Nikki's House 1938

This is the first picture Nikki has of me. It was taken in 1938, when I was already 32 years old. The 1938 county assessment says that:
  • I had 4 rooms in 616 square feet (not counting the porch)
  • I had a shingle roof, fir siding and a concrete foundation
  • I was heated by a stove.
  • I had a predicted future life of only 17 years
  • I had a 216 square foot garage with a dirt floor
  • I was assessed at a total value of $370 ($250 for the garage and I, $120 for the lot.)
You can see that I have small windows and not much shrubbery. There was no stairway, so my attic wasn't in use and the dormer was just for decoration. There aren't even power lines in my neighborhood yet. I'm just a plain little house on a street of other plain little houses. Now if you want to see me when I'm 16 years older, in 1954, click below.
